Yep my friends, it will be two years in January since I have updated this blog. But don’t worry you haven’t missed a thing, absolutely nothing in our life has changed, except for almost everything.

I often get chided by my better half for not keeping up with the blog and encouraged to keep you up to date on our life. My first reaction is, no one cares and has way better things to do with their time than to read about our life. My second reaction is, I don’t have time and I don’t want to. All of the above may be true. However, I took the time and read back over all of the blogs I have made since the beginning and I have to say, I loved it. I laughed, I cried, all the memories came flooding back, and I was encouraged by one of the hardest times in my life. I was reminded that I can do more than I give myself credit for, and that God has been with us every single step of the way. I also came to the conclusion that I need to blog for myself and my family. Life is flying by and the memories that we are making are all hard to remember, unless I write them down. The boys don’t remember RV traveling very well, and to be honest some of it is a blur to us too, and the blog reminded me of so many things I had forgotten. So in order to preserve memories I must blog. I also think I like to write more than I even know myself. My creative side apparently likes to tell stories and I have to get them out. And then of course the other major reason I need to blog, is because you guys have been asking out of the blue on more than one occasion if I am going to write more. So fine, here we are. I have two years worth of stuff to catch you up on, and trust me it isn’t boring. However, I can’t do it all in one post so I will sprinkle your inbox over the next few months with stories of life from the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The only problem is mentally organizing two years worth of stories and then making them make sense!

But first a real update. We are still living in Wisconsin, kinda on the farm, kinda in the RV, kinda not. Still wanting to travel, kinda happy not to be. Still in over our heads on renovation projects with no place that is really a home for us, yet. We still have three boys who are huge and growing faster than they should (according to me, not them), and we are still somehow living a version of our dream life, that looks nothing like we thought it would but it still checks the boxes. How was that for an update? Totally clear on what we are doing? Or have I peaked your interest to follow along?

As I was reading and updating our blog site I stopped on the About Us page and had a gut check moment. When we started out in 2019 I posted this:

Why We Are Doing This

  • Life is short and meant to be lived
  • “Someday” may never come
  • Hope over Fear
  • To enjoy and focus on our young family
  • Think Differently, Live Abundantly
  • To inspire others to live their dreams
  • To be free and available to God and others

I read this to Luke and had to stop and ponder myself if this is still “why we are doing this”. We made these statements with a great deal of intentionality 3 years ago. The “this” is different than traveling full time in an RV, but I don’t think the why has to change just because the circumstances do. Not if the why is really the why we have set for our lives and our family.

Okay, so sneak peek at the stories to come:

~ Lake House living and renting

~ Renovating a 100+ year old hoarder house

~ Buying back part of the family farm and the “gem” of a house that came with it.

~ Learning how to homeschool three boys and life on the farm

~And of course a few RV trips sprinkled in

I hope you will stay tuned and continue on this journey with me. I promise not to bore you ?.

Live your Adventure,

Julie

I told you they were huge! But it is all relative I guess ?

  1. I loved reading this update. I would check for an update and then realize you have kept me in the loop via the pictures I receive of the Peterson boys and thought you might be sharing life as you know it with the pictures. The boys are growing up so fast and so very cute. And I love seeing them in action on the farm where I grew up. I can hardly wait for the next update! Thanks so much for restarting the blog❤️U❣️

  2. I’ve traveled some of this crazy adventure you’ve been on and I’m ready and waiting to see how it is described! Blog on, Jules!!❤️

  3. I’ve traveled some of this crazy journey with you and I’m ready and waiting to read about it. Blog on, Jules❤️

  4. What a delight to awaken to your update. I always have interest in it for two reasons, I’ve know you and your family since you were five years old, and I am a native Wisconsinite. Thus, your blogs take me “home”. Actually, we spent nine days in Wisconsin this past July, visiting family and enjoying the scenery. I love it back there, but for the bugs and the cold winters. Your boys are growing so quickly, and I am sure they are loving farm live. What freedom for them. Bless you all. Looking forward to hearing of your adventures. You write so well.
